Killzone 2 Expected To Sell More/Equal Than Metal Gear Solid 4
Sony has been on the playing field since the days it had been rejected by Nintendo and their idea of creating a CD based gaming device. This generation the competition has been different, but this has not deterred the company to give up on pushing a steady and stellar quality of games on its platform. We recently spent some time talking with a Sony rep, who had an interesting anecdote when broached upon Killzone 2. Since this is not an official statement by the company or the developer, the anonymity of the representative is being respected
“It would be a lie to say Sony has not invested heavily in Killzone 2 and each individual at Guerilla games has worked even harder to satisfy any expectations kept by the company and their loyal community. I do see the game breaking a barrier with a huge variety of groups and expect it to see sales as good as Metal Gear Solid 4 if not beyond it.”
The market feasibility for a game like Killzone 2 is larger than Metal Gear Solid 4, this is said with the view that Killzone 2 shares the spectrum of a market that encompasses the shooter fan base who have suppled through games such as Halo, Gears and Crysis, the multiplayer arena which defines addiction in a different light and the “Oh my god, this game pwns” respectable fanboy.
The Metal Gear series on the other hand brings a culture to gaming that requires time, patience and endurance to accept a new form in videogames. To put it in brief Killzone 2 performs the necessary tasks on being in the gaming industry exceptionally, whereas Metal Gear defines the status of immersion and bonding with the virtual to a whole new level.

KZ2 is fucking AMAZING!! And will be the BEST seller on the PS3 until GOWIII comes out. Come on Kratos come out and cause CHAOS!!

Selling more than MGS4 is a big ask……..i think there will be games this year that do surpass 4.5 million, however i don’t think Killzone 2 will be it.
God Of War 3, Final Fantasy XIII and Gran Turismo 5 have better chances, IMO.
