The Department of Defense said there had been a fatal incident involving a vehicle on the campus of the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario.
Emergency teams responded to the incident around 2 a.m. Friday in Point Frederick.
Officials did not confirm how many people died in the incident.
“RMC’s first priority is to ensure that our Navy and officer cadets, staff, faculty and families are cared for and supported,” DND said in a statement.
“This loss has been felt throughout the RMC community and we extend our deepest condolences to all of our members, their families and their friends at this difficult time.”
According to DND, next of kin notifications are ongoing and no further information is being released at this time.
Point Frederick is a peninsula where Lake Ontario meets the St. Lawrence River.
