Two people were hospitalized after a rooftop parking lot collapsed in East Vancouver on Thursday afternoon.
According to Vancouver Fire Rescue Services, the collapse occurred just before 1:30 p.m. at a building on the Lougheed Highway between Rupert Street and Boundary Road.

“A bobcat was working on the part of the parking garage roof that gave way,” Asst. Chief Dan Moberg told CTV News. “Part of the rooftop parking lot then collapsed onto an office space below.”
In an email to CTV News, BC Emergency Health Services said four ambulances were dispatched to the scene and two patients were taken to the hospital.
The extent of her injuries is currently unknown. An investigation is underway.
