It has been reported that the OAP was dropped off at the Castle Hill Baptist Church by her husband – before he accidentally reversed over her.

The woman was heading to the church to attend a Bible study when she was horrifically struck down.

Local reports state that another church member witnessed the accident but it was already too late.

Emergency services were called at around 9:30am this morning following reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

But when paramedics arrived at the scene, the woman was unconscious and they were unable to revive her.

The driver of the vehicle – a 70-year-old man believed to be her husband – was left uninjured following the incident.

He was later taken to Sydney’s Westmead Hospital as a precaution.

Pastor Ian Deane told 7NEWS the incident was “extremely tragic”.

“She’s been an active member of the church and the person who witnessed it is also an active member of the church, it’s just tragic… just incredibly sad,” he said.

No charges have been laid but Hills Area cops are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

And they are urging locals who may have information on the accident to reach out.
